About Us

Having been a partner with local law firm Gwynnes for some 23 years, in 2000 Terry Jones acquired the firm’s Shrewsbury office and formed his own company Terry Jones Solicitors.  The objective was to create and establish a more general practice to cater for the needs and demands of a changing world and the local community.

The rest is history:-

Our first office based in Milk Street, Shrewsbury opened its doors to the public on 1st February 2000 with 21 members of staff.   With Terry’s vision and ambition the firm went from strength to strength and within 2 years we expanded the practice and opened our second office based in Stafford Park, Telford.

It wasn’t long before we had outgrown our premises in Milk Street and so moved into Abbey House, a beautiful Grade II listed building situate in Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury.  The house, built by Thomas Jenkins in 1698, has a beautiful oak panelled reception area and a magnificent sweeping staircase which is always the centre of conversation by our visitors.  Clients always comment and enthuse on grandeur and striking features of Abbey House.

The success of the firm continued unabated throughout the following years and the number of employees more than quadrupled to well over 100.

Our significant client base in the north east of the county prompted the Directors to further expand the business in 2006. Terry started his legal career in Newport, Shropshire and still acts for a number of clients in the area and this therefore seemed the perfect location to open a new office. Having always had an affiliation with the local community and businesses alike in Newport, Terry was delighted to acquire the practice of Jones and Ferriday, a well-respected and successful firm of Solicitors based at 64 Upper Bar.   On 1st October 2006 we launched our Newport Office to the public.

Since inception in 2000 we have become one of the most sought after legal practices in the region and we are well known for our excellent client care, .  We are members of The Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme; the only recognised Quality Standard for residential property legal work along with other quality marks which identifies us from the crowd.

On 1st July 2014 we opened our fourth office at 62 Whitburn Street, Bridgnorth.  Again the correct location was paramount to the firm’s expansion plans and Bridgnorth was deemed ideal.  With our client base in the south of the county increasing significantly over the last few years opening an office in Bridgnorth was the perfect way for us to service their needs and requirements.

On 21st February 2018, after months of discussions with their senior team, we proudly announced we have become part of Metamorph Law.  A top 100 legal firm, Metamorph Law has a shared vision and ethos, investment and expertise to help us better serve our clients and staff.  We are excited about the opportunities this offers us and are confident that the practice will go from strength to strength.

On 2nd January 2019 local law firm Linder Myers Solicitors who were already part of the Metamorph Group based at Talbot House in Shrewsbury, adopted Terry Jones Solicitors as its trading name.

Linder Myers Solicitors and Terry Jones Solicitors have a long established commitment to Shropshire, which encompasses the firms of Turnbull Garrard, Moss & Poulson and Scott Lister and have come together to make the business we have today.

On 31st July 2019, our five year project at Bridgnorth came to a end with the closure of the office.

Clients will now benefit from a wider range of services and expertise across the two Shrewsbury offices, Talbot House and Abbey House, as well as Telford and Newport.
