Margaret runs London Marathon for charity

Those of you who know me will no doubt have seen me hobbling around the office and plodding around the streets of Shrewsbury recently.  This is because I am running the London Marathon on 26th April 2015.

Having wanted to run the London Marathon since I watched the first one on television 34 years ago, this year will actually be the second time I will have run it – I completed it 15 years ago (in a very slow time).  I always wanted to do the London Marathon again (so I could have a ‘proper’ go at it) and I was lucky enough to gain a club place this year through the Shropshire Shufflers and so I thought I would use the opportunity to also raise money for Cancer Research UK.  I chose this charity as I have had family and friends affected by cancer and I personally do not know anyone who hasn’t been affected by it in one way or another.

I am hoping the fact that I am raising money for charity will give me an extra incentive to keep going especially in those last few painful miles.

I would be happy and grateful to receive any sponsorship if anyone would like to do so.  I have an online fundraising page :

Thank you for your support
