Missing girl's family jailed for not revealing her location

The Grandparents of a 5 year old girl who has been at the centre of a custody battle for the last year have been sentenced to 12 days in jail for contempt of Court, due to the High Court Judge ruling that they had lied when asked where the child was.  Alice Davies went missing in 2012, although has recently been found safe and well in Russia with her Mother Jacqueline.  A lawyer representing the grandparents told the Court that they had acted out of 'misguided loyalty'.

The Courts had ruled that Mr Brown, Alice's Father should have contact with his daughter, but she was taken out of the country before the Order could be enforced.  Ms Davies is set to appear at the hearing in the Family Division of the High Court in Birmingham shortly.
