I qualified as a Solicitor in 1984 and have been working in Shropshire for most of that period.

I have always specialised in Family and Matrimonial law and I am a Collaborative Lawyer and Member of Resolution. I am particularly involved in dealing with financial disputes arising out of the breakdown of relationships and also children disputes.

I pride myself on my ability to help clients to deal with and overcome stressful situations and to obtain the best possible outcome for them.

To my clients I am “the light at the end of the tunnel” and 'the voice of calm in a sea of chaos'

Why I trained as a Collaborative Lawyer

I have been dealing with family matters for over 30 years and have seen a wide variety of issues and breakdown of relationships – the majority of them angry and bitter.  Some, however, are able to transcend their hurt and resentment and to focus on what is important to them to achieve at the end of the day.  It is these couples who are best suited to the collaborative approach.

I want to be able to help them to maintain their trust and dignity, with mutual respect for one another, notwithstanding the breakdown of their relationship.  I see my role as guiding and supporting them through the legal process to reach a fair solution for everyone. I hope that by adopting a constructive and non-confrontational approach I can help people to find a solution that will enable them to deal with one another in the future, even when my role in their lives has ended.

I consider that with my experience, not only ‘time served’ but also life skills, I am admirably placed to provide that support and guidance.
