This month’s launch of Bridgnorth is Business was a resounding success, with a crowd of over 30 representatives from local businesses attending the breakfast meeting at Bridgnorth’s Woodberry Inn. Also in attendance was guest speaker and Head of Partnership and Economic Strategy at Shropshire Council, Dr Tim Jenkins, whose talk about both the history and future of the county, was very well received.
Bridgnorth is Business is the brainchild of Terry Jones Solicitors Director, Rachel Wood, Ruth Burley of RMB Financial Planning, Jo Frith of Credibly Green, and Louise Welsby of Buy From Shropshire. Each meeting promises to be a relaxing networking session where guests can discuss business matters, listen to a new guest speaker, and enjoy a bacon sandwich and hot drink all for the price of just £10.00.
“Bridgnorth is a fantastic place to live and work in and we are excited to have created this new group, which is designed to enable networking within the town in a relaxed setting,” explains Rachel Wood.
“We intend to provide an invaluable platform for business people to get together over breakfast to talk about their services and exchange ideas.”
The meetings are to be held on the third Wednesday of every month and those wishing to attend must register their interest by 5.00pm on the Monday prior to the Wednesday meeting. Each session can accept up to 40 attendees, each one from a different local business, and those in attendance are invited to join the Bridgnorth is Business Facebook page.
With the success of the launch, Rachel is looking forward to June’s meeting.
“Our first meeting exceeded expectations, with a large number of representatives, such as retailers, accountants, designers and consultants attending from the town and further afield, so it was great to see such a great mix of skills and experience. It was an excellent start and we are hoping even more people attend in future as we grow and evolve.”
Bridgnorth is Business is a not-for-profit organisation and will be donating any funds raised after expenses to Rupert’s Revenge. Next month’s meeting is to be held at 8.30am on 21st June at the Woodberry Inn. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to register their interest at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bridgnorth-is-business-tickets-34791958685 by 5.00pm on Monday 19th June.
