Shrewsbury County Court is closing

With effect from 30th September 2011 Shrewsbury County Court will close and all work will be processed at Telford County Court.

In future all matters will be transferred to Telford County Court, although in some instances cases will still be dealt with by hearing s before the District Judge sitting at Shrewsbury Magistrates’ Court, Preston Street, Shrewsbury.

At present there will be 3 days a week when the District Judge will hear cases at Shrewsbury Magistrates’ Court (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). A District Judge, a Clerk and a Court Usher will be present. However, it is anticipated that the weekly hearings will be reduced to 2 days a week from April 2012.

We at Terry Jones Solicitors will do everything we can to minimise the inconvenience caused to our clients as a result of this decision on the part of the Government, which is aimed at reducing the costs of providing a Court service.
